PILOT RUN A pilot study is a standard scientific tool allowing engineers to learn and understand the operations before committing to a full-grown project. The pilot study technique specifically refers to a small scale version of a large project. It is an apt idea for training inexperienced engineer trainees allowing them to learn and understand the working procedures. The pilot run is normally small in comparison with the main project, but may however; provide vital information on the importance of the proposed procedures and treatment.
